Frequently asked questions
Training
If you're an approved Stripe partner, you can log into your Stripe Partner Portal Account (https://www.stripe.partners/) and navigate to the Training and certification tab. You will be automatically signed in via SSO to access training materials. If you face any issues with the login process or if you are a Partner without Partner Portal access, reach out to us at partner-support@stripe.com and we will get back to you within 24 business hours.
If you're not a partner, then you should log in by selecting the "Sign in as Guest" option. Stripe's Training & Certification program is currently on an invite-only basis for non-partners, only approved organizations may sign up. If you think your organization was invited but you still can't make an account, then please reach out to us at partner-support@stripe.com.
No, if you are already Stripe Professional Architect or Professional Developer certified, there is no need to take training again. If you have additional questions on your certification status, reach out to us at partner-support@stripe.com.
Certification
There are three levels of certification: Fundamentals, Associate, and Professional.
- Fundamentals is intended for learners who are brand new to Stripe. Everything you need to pass the exam is in the provided training.
- Associate is intended for learners in their first year of experience.
- Professional is best suited for people with at least 2 years of industry experience, including 1 year designing or implementing Stripe solutions.
If you are attempting the Professional level certification, we recommend you work on a user engagement and refer to the eLearning content in the "Designing and developing the solution" section to prepare yourself.
These engagements will typically take 3-4 months. During this period also allocate a few hours per week to review the material and do the practice worksheets.
You can continue honing your skills by taking the Fundamentals and Associate level exams and reviewing the study guide. We anticipate you will be ready to take the certification in 3-4 months.
No, training is never necessary to become certified. You can become certified as a Professional Architect by completing the certification multiple choice exam proctored by our partner, Certiverse. You can become certified as a Professional Developer by completing a coding challenge via Github.
No, you must pass the certification exam or challenge to become certified. For Developers, this includes a Payments Developer Challenge via Github. For Architects, this includes a multiple choice examination.
